General Information |
Use this mnemonic when only Cryoglobulin requested. This assay detects the presence of a cryoglobulin, and if present, provides a semi quantitative estimate of the amount. Cryoglobulins are associated with a variety of clinical conditions including: myeloma, Waldenstrom's macroglobulinemia, chronic lymphocytic leukemia, rheumatoid arthritis, Sjogren's syndrome, mixed essential cryoglobulinemia, systemic lupus erythematosus, infectious mononucleosis, cytomegalovirus infections, acute viral hepatitis, primary biliary cirrhosis, post streptococcal glomerulonephritis, infective endocarditis, leprosy, kalaazar, and tropical splenomegaly syndrome. |
