Swabs in VTM/UTM: Frozen -10 C Preferred, Refrigerated 2-8 C – 7 days – Do not freeze/thaw. Swabs in Aptima Multitest Transport Swab Media: Ambient temperature for up to 30 days. Cerebrospinal Fluid: 500µL CSF in a sterile container. Refrigerated 2-8 C – 7 days, Frozen -60 to -85 C greater than 7 days – Do not freeze/thaw. Serum/Plasma: Separate plasma/serum from whole blood within 24 hours of collection. Frozen -10 C Preferred, Refrigerated 2-8 C – 7 days – Do not freeze/thaw. Clear non-cellular fluid: Frozen -10 C Preferred, Refrigerated 2-8 C – 7 days – Do not freeze/thaw. Breast Milk: Frozen -10 C Preferred, Refrigerated 2-8 C – 7 days – Do not freeze/thaw. |
